Today was one of the last days of the home renovation project. After waking up, it dawned on me that I had to continue my shift and sandpaper the rest of the slates. Although the much-needed coffee opened the channels in my wee brain, I couldn't just rush out to the back garden and start the job. I had to buckle down to study because I wanted to get back the mojo I had long lost in the process of home renovation. I went through another lesson in the English Vocabulary in Use book and found it interesting. It was about numbers, statistics and quantities. Despite loathing these topics normally, I enjoyed this unit because it was part of the exam and contained a couple of interesting verbs, words, and expressions, such as to seesaw - go up and down at regular intervals, ballpark figure - guess believed to be accurate, to tot up - add up (informal), and to err on the side of caution - being cautious.
After finishing my studies, Ági left, and I went to the back garden to continue my physical punishment. It took me almost two hours to complete the remaining 15 stales because they were in worse condition than the ones I'd sandpapered yesterday. Anyway, I completed the job, but I was so peckish that I had to hurry up and prepare something to appease my hunger. The canned "lecsó" was the right choice, so I heated it up, added four eggs to it, and my royal menu was ready to be devoured.
After lunch, I couldn't continue my work. I had to rest and fiddle with my homework, but I wasn't successful because my head revolved around the remaining tasks. I wasted an hour. After I took Abby for her afternoon walk in the +29°C - we are talking about the end of September here - which took us thirty minutes, I had to prepare myself for the English class with Charlette. The lesson with her was fantastic, as always. But after the class, I grabbed some nosh and rushed to the back garden to continue my shift. I painted twenty stales in one and a half hours till the sun went down.
