Keskiviikko 🇫🇮 Miðvikudagur 🇮🇸

Today was a busy day. I had to take Abby to the vet for her plaque removal. While she was heavily sedated in the operating theatre, I bought some items in the nearby store. After taking her home, I had to prepare a letter to our neighbour who told us the other day that he'd like to install solar panels in his part of the communal garden. Once I completed the letter, I grabbed some food, took Abby for her afternoon walk, checked my afternoon lesson, and drove to Budapest to teach. Once the lesson was over, I drove back home. Grabbed something to eat, worked out, and waited for Ági to arrive. Summer is coming back soon. According to the weather forecast, we should expect record-breaking temperatures during the next three days. The highest temperatures will be around +30°C, which is frowningly unusual at this time of the year.

Maanantai 🇫🇮 Mánudagur 🇮🇸

The show must go on. The mouldy Walls seemed the same after spraying them with an anti-mould solution, so I had to deploy something stronger. It took me almost two hours to clean up the mess generated by the intervention yesterday, apply a new layer of anti-mould spray on the walls, and thoroughly ventilate the premises. My throat was full of that strong chlorine-based chemical for hours. Eating Ági's pizza felt like being in a swimming pool - especially the one when I was a kid, whose water was snow-white from the excessive amount of chlorine they used to disinfect the pool. Anyway, I took Ági to her hair-dresser, and then I went to buy some goods I needed to revamp the basement office. On the way home, I stopped at the supermarket to buy goods for the rest of the week to get by till our holiday in Austria. But till then, there is a lot to do: Tomorrow Check the walls and if they are dry, putting back my desk and the sofa to their places. Separating the essential and the throw-awa...

Lauantai 🇫🇮 Laugardagur 🇮🇸

Little did we know about how the events would unfold later today when we woke up this morning. After a terrible sleepless night, my morning routines felt like black-and-white images from a slow-motion movie, and I resembled a sleepy bulldog. When the much-needed coffee found its way into my system, my whole perception came to its senses, and the world wasn't that grim anymore. I still need to figure out why my wee mind blows the alarm in the middle of the night and puts me fully awake. During these instances, I feel like a marathon runner ready for the next contest, and falling into a deep sleep seems impossible. However, when dawn comes, the whole game changes suddenly. My eyelids are no longer glued to the top of my head but gradually descending towards my chin like two 16-ton weights.  When my mind started to produce meaningful thoughts, I knew I was ready to talk about what to do today. Eventually, we decided to go to IKEA and buy some more unnecessarily necessary things. We ca...

Tiistai 🇫🇮 - Dienstag 🇦🇹

I fell asleep yesterday night on the sofa and spent half of the night there. When I woke up, I was too tired to climb up to the bedroom, so I made myself comfortable and went back to sleep till 6 a.m. When I woke up for the second time today, I took Abby for her morning walk, fed her and myself, grabbed a coffee, and chatted with Ági. Little did I know how little I would study today when we hung up the phone, but our neighbour's impatience with the shredding machine thwarted my plans. He thought installing the tool in our garden would be a brilliant idea, but I made sure he changed his mind and relocated the machine to our shared garden. The shredding began at 10 a.m. and lasted till 1:45 p.m. I hardly had time to shower, prepare and devour lunch before my lesson - which was perfect - with Charlette. After my English class, I took Abby for her afternoon walk in the +30°C heat, and upon returning home and cleaning this little rascal, a friend called and kept me on the phone for anot...

Tiistai 🇫🇮 - Dienstag 🇦🇹

I had a short night. I woke up at 3 a.m. and couldn’t go back to sleep because my mind thought it was exam day. My brain was so clear that I thought I would solve the most complicated equation on Earth or complete a CPE exam. Too bad my body wasn't up for it and was lying motionless in bed. Anyway, I dragged myself out of bed at 6:20, prepared breakfast, ate it, and took Abby for her morning walk. Then I fed her, washed the dishes, grabbed coffee, and called Ági. After we finished chatting, I felt so tired that I decided to nod off. However, when I made myself comfy, the phone rang: my mate, the mechanic, called me to arrange Ági's car's regular checkup this afternoon. When we finished, I fell into a half-coma and slept for an hour. After waking up, I studied a bit, prepared lunch, grabbed coffee again, and took Abby for her afternoon walk before my English class with Charlette. Once the lesson was over, I hopped in Ági's car with Abby and went off to the city. The car ...
