We woke up at 5:45 a.m. after a relatively good night's sleep. Hauling ourselves to the restaurant for breakfast seemed like a two-week-long journey. But we made it eventually and had a delicious meal. The food quality and the selection on offer are out of this world. When we finished our early morning culinary revels, we jumped in the car and drove to Parndorf. Our early morning ride was because we wanted to avoid the Saturday craziness there. It seemed a wise decision. Although the place was brimming with locals and tourists, we bought some staple food and other necessary items. Nevertheless, by the end of the round, we were exhausted by many people. Anyway, with the goods in our trunk, we drove back to the hotel to unpack.
After unloading the goods, we drove to where we'd eaten yesterday. We ordered the same food and were over the moon after the dishes. We then returned to the hotel, and after a short break, we drove to the Laxemburger Schlosspark, where we spent one and a half hours, which covered a nice stroll in the park, and a short boat ride on the lake. The parking penalty was not the icing on the cake. Despite using an app, Ági had downloaded before coming to Austria, and with which we had paid several tickets, the parking lot guy wrote us a check.
Moreover, he did it even though parking was free of charge. On a side note, we should have claimed a parking permit before entering the park, but there were no signs of this instruction. It cost us twenty-five euros to learn a lesson. The penalty couldn't spoil our beautiful experience in the park, so with this in mind, we returned to the hotel. We stopped to refuel the car and buy some chocolate on the way back.
Today is our last night in Vienna, and we will drive back home tomorrow. Neither of us wants to leave Vienna, this beautiful city, but our time is up here, and however hard it is to say goodbye, we have to do so. Both of us could imagine life here, but we won't be able to move here permanently. Our life in Hungary is alright. The house we own is getting more and more beautiful as the renovation works end soon. However, this "however" should be written with capitals, so life here seems much better. Even though the services cost more money here, compared to the Hungarian price range, some staple foods are cheaper, the city is more liveable, and the people seem less worried.
I don't want to moan or whine. And the experience is still fresh, so I'll let it sink in before I write about these exceptionally beautiful days here in Vienna.
