Donnerstag 🇦🇹

After waking up, we went downstairs to have another perfect breakfast; and it was perfect. The selection and quality of food on offer is baffling, and the staff is top-notch superb. We got to know a Hungarian guy who is a real professional. He walked up and down the venue, checking the details and clearing the tables once a guest finished eating. He asked us whether we had any extra requests besides what they offered for breakfast. We then asked him what was worth visiting, and he was willing to help us make a perfect plan for the day. He recommended visiting Baden, a small spa town 26 kilometres from Vienna, and checking a local restaurant - here it is called Heuriger - if we wanted to have a traditional Wiener Schnitzer made of calf. We jumped at the suggestions, so after breakfast, we jumped in the car and drove to "SCS" to buy some goods. We headed for the car with goods in our bags, but instead of continuing our trip to Baden, my bowels decided otherwise, so we left the venue for the hotel. I had to spend a good few minutes meditating on surviving the Akakiko menu from the previous day. When I was ready to resume our plan, it was already hot outside. When we made our way to Baden, the weather was excellent.
We took a long walk in the town, visiting the main square and some places one might want to see there. Since Baden is a small town, taking a one-hour stroll provides enough opportunity to see almost everything there. As our time ended there, we jumped in the car and drove to the Wambacher Heuriger in Vienna, recommended by the guy in the restaurant. By the end of our stay at the restaurant, I was almost crying because the food was so effing delicious. The Wiener Schnitzer wag a massive slice of calf covered with the special coating, and the potato salad as the side dish with the cowberry jam crowned the much-coveted culinary experience. We thought we couldn't take this food experience to a higher level, but the Kaiserschmarrn we ordered was out of this world. The fluffy pastry with raisin and plum jam provided a once-in-a-lifetime delight. It was costly, but this money was well spent. And what is more, we reserved a table for two for tomorrow, so before our revels end here in Austria, we will have another perfect dish to make this holiday even more unforgettable.
These few days in Austra were the best I've ever had during a holiday!

The final plan

I have a plan, so crazy that it might just work. I checked my books and tried to estimate how to proceed with my preparation, i.e which books should be the first and how to process the units, so the devised schedule is the following: Completing the 'Straight to advanced' and 'Ready for Advanced' books. They consist of 10 lessons and 5 review units each, so if I study intensively, I can finish these books in three-four weeks. Learning by heart the advanced phrasal verbs, idioms, and collocation books. (Plus the 'Don't get me wrong' pocketbook that contains brilliant idioms and collocations.) These books consist of 60 units each, so if I take three lessons per week, I can finish them by the end of August. Completing the 'Destination C1-C2' book. This is the toughest of all the previously listed books, including word formation, idioms, phrasal verbs, grammar, etc. I could go through this book while dealing with the 'Straight to advanced' book si...

53 is the new 35

Nah, I'm just kidding, 53 cannot be 35 in any way. When I first heard this term, fifty is the new forty, I thought something was wrong with my ears. Even the explanation of this locution seemed dodgy. I'm pretty sure that this is a kind of self-hypnosis technique used by those who are unable to accept their age and refuse to take notice of the natural order of things. (It's always weird to see the results of what the scalpel of cosmetic surgeons did to some poor, deluded individuals.) Anyway, I found the tail of the mojo and tried to get it back completely. I completed the homework Charlette had given me a month ago - it wasn't easy to complete, though - and booked some lessons as well. I'm looking forward to these classes. Nevertheless, my mind was struggling tremendously with the homework. My brain is still not as fresh as it used to be, so I won't be surprised if it turns out to be a balderdash. The weather turned freezing. Well, it's not as cold as it is...
