Well, not verbatim landed his Holiness with his little wings, but he's here. It must be fascinating for those who believe in him and what he represents, the institutionalized faith, which I'm not a big fan of. I'm not saying that it has no relevance in the world. It's the wealth they amass and possess that bothers me. Comparing this wealth to the poverty that Jesus was born into and considering the poverty that still affects billions worldwide, it is not difficult to understand the controversy that irritates me. I don't know what goes on in his head while sitting on his throne and looking at the world, but I'm damn sure he has no difficulties paying for his next meal or medication. I'm not envious of the wealth he and the Church has. They should do more for those who suffer. It's easy to ask for more money and tell everybody how to save when their stomach is full. That's all I'm saying. Nevertheless, Christianity has brought about changes that no one had seen before, so its role and achievements, particularly in Western civilization, are undeniable. Fingers crossed that everything will go according to plan.
I have a prolific day behind me. Instead of continuing the Ready for Advanced book, I took a slight detour by focusing on the Advanced Phrasal Verbs and Destination C1-C2 books. And I did it with a pinch of cunning; namely, I started the pore over the last units of each book. Since I went through the previously taken lessons and couldn't find any challenging topics, I decided to try the start-from-the-back method. It worked, so I'll keep this method. It inspires me more than starting them all over again; this way, I can see how many units are left instead of counting how many units there are to go through. And continuing till the very first units is fun.
The weather is typically April-like. It can't decide whether to scorch, sprinkle the ground or bring freezing wind from the North. This very afternoon, when I was walking Abby and the clouds cleared off, the Sun heated my back so much that I started sweating, and Abby slowed down with her tongue sliding on the ground. But the game changed after the clouds returned and the wind picked up. Anyway, the whimsical period will soon be over, and we can do nothing but hope that the summer won't be as hot as last year.
